Chloe Dixon
I've been a chef for the last 6 years, working in various places from Ski Chalets to pubs, huge chain restaurants and private supper clubs with celebrity chefs. After training for my catering qualification I was able to introduce my own menus into where I worked and continue growing as a chef. Now I have my own business and Food Truck which means I can bring my menus wherever I go and cater to even more!
A bit of background...
I started cooking, professionally in 2019 as chalet host in Val Thorens. I had previously been a secondary-school science teacher but wanted to follow my passion for cooking and become a chef. Getting to work in the mountains and cater for 12 guests every day seemed like a logical way to test if my passion could also be my career. After making cakes, breakfasts, 3 course meals and canapés every day for 6 months I was even more excited to get cooking and developing my own dishes and menus.

Maybe it's the ex-teacher in me, or the fact that I absolutely love gaining a qualification, I wanted to "officially" become a chef so started out as an apprentice and worked my way up through the ranks in a local Brighton pub and to gain my catering NVQ. I learned so much and really got to see how great food can bring a community together - especially during the Pandemic where we got innovative with take away roast dinners, cook at home meals and endless Fish & Chip Fridays. I was able to write my own menus for the pub, host pop-up foodie evenings and cater for buffets and events - which is still one of my favourite catering jobs to do; I absolutely love a buffet.

After 2 years I moved onto a large chain restaurant to push myself further, cheffing and running a business at a much larger scale but also learning about my all-time favourite cuisine - Mexican food, I gained yet another qualification, this time in Leading & Managing a Team, and was fortunate enough to work in Brighton & London alongside Thomasina Miers & Crystelle Pereira for special Supper Clubs, including an International Women's Day event where exceptional female chefs were championed.
Fast forward to now...
Cooking & eating the food you love does wonders for your creativity and mindset. After absorbing as much as I could, immersing myself in the culture and, of course, working extremely hard, I knew I wanted to have my own business.

I love going to festivals, watching live music and generally having a good time so I always wanted my own Food Truck to take to these events, however I still wanted to be flexible, create new menus and be able to provide an array of different food for different people and their needs. I've seen what works and doesn't at festivals, I'd had plenty experience in knowing what I want/need to eat when I go to them myself and I also understand the practicalities of catering for a range of different activities and Ladled with Love puts all that into practice.

I'm so excited to welcome customers into this new chapter of my career, getting creative with menus, growing this business to its full potential, but, most importantly, sharing great food with so many people.
